Paying It Forward
No person is an island. Each of us is a unique collection of the lessons, wisdom, experiences, and, of course, the people who have contributed value to our lives. Collaboration between diverse groups of people, eager to positively impact one another, is what leads to both personal and professional growth.
Treehouse lunches are designed to bring cool people together so that they can forge more meaningful connections, reinforce a “pay-it-forward” culture, and discover unexpected opportunities.
Whether through mentorship, volunteering, or simply favors and referrals, Treehouse members possess a willingness to share their passion, experience, and attention for the benefit of others. Members are a unique and diverse collection of people including investors, founders, executives, advisors, experts, and, most importantly, givers.
Membership comes at no cost other than a willingness to forge new relationships and cast aside expectations of “quid pro quo“-style networking.
The inspiration for the Treehouse lunches comes from Adam McGowan of Firefield and we have borrowed (with his permission) much of his format. Additional inspiration comes from the excellent book “Give and Take” by Adam Grant, the networking approach of Adam Rifkin, and the perfect treehouse (which itself is a good analogy for building startups).
