Renewing A Patent

Patent renewal fees (also called “maintenance fees”) are due at 3.5, 7.5, and 11.5 years from the patent’s issue date. The USPTO does not mail notices to patent owners that maintenance fees are due. For more info, see the USPTO’s patent renewal fee schedule.
