Sometimes the USPTO gets confused about what “beta” means and whether or not “beta” products are being used “in commerce” for the purpose of trademark registration. If this issue comes up, then we will remind the USPTO that Gmail (for example) was famously in beta for over 5 years (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gmail), and it defies reality to say that Gmail was not being used “in commerce” over this period.
